At FiltersFast.com, we have made it our mission to help bring clean water to those in need all around the world. Did you know that 2.1 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water and 4.5 billion lack sanitation services? (Source: un.org) These numbers are daunting and we believe that something must be done.
Since 2011, we have been in partnership with a water charity called Wine To Water. We came together with one mission in mind: to end the global water crisis. This year, we are committing to giving a portion of ALL refrigerator filter sales to Wine To Water with a minimum donation of $15,000 per month. One single dollar can help provide lifesaving clean water to a person in need for up to a year, just think about how many lives are going to be impacted!
As each year passes, our partnership with Wine To Water strengthens. In 2018 alone, we were able to do the following:
- Sponsor Wine To Water’s first ever Summit. Read the recap here.
- Hosted a company-wide sawyer filter build close to 100 Sawyer filters that were used in the field. Nearly 18,251 lives were impacted in the past 6 months through Wine To Water’s filter build program. Talk about amazing!
- Thanks to donations from our customers and employees, we were able to help over 20,000 people gain access to clean water.
The 2019 theme for World Water Day is: Leaving no one behind. This year’s theme aligns perfectly with our mission and with the work Wine To Water has done and continues to do.
Wine To Water does more than just bring clean water to those who desperately need it. They assess the needs of each community, build and repair wells, and educate community members on how to properly care and repair these wells and filters so that they can have access to clean water for years to come.
