Thank you for reaching out to us. I reached out to our Water Filtration Expert and he has not used this item personally. He did a quick online search and found positive reviews for similar products. Some of the before and after images look promising. Please do share if you find this item to perform well.

It got me when you said that although hard water is safe to drink and wash things with, it can lead to inconvenience and embarrassing problems in the future. I have to agree with this because the yellowish look of the toilet really is embarrassing, especially if the visitors will see. They will probably think the worst! Because of this, I will see to it that I get a water softener as soon as I get the toilets and bathtubs replaced.
