3) Dishwashers aren’t just for dishes. Dishwashers are perfect for washing everything from sponges to plastic toys to pet dishes to plastic hairbrushes. Better than handwashing every single item in your house, right?

5) Marks all over your pretty painted walls? Take a dry microfiber towel and start rubbing. You’ll be surprised at how quickly they disappear. For more detailed surfaces like knobs and molding, use a surface cleaner with a smaller microfiber towel. 6) Pet hair piling up on your couch? If you don’t have a lint roller handy, put on a rubber dishwashing glove. 7) When was the last time you changed your filter? It is recommended that you change your home’s air filters/furnace filters every 3 months. The first day of a new season is the perfect time to change your filters.

8) Dirty ceiling fan? One thing people usually don’t think to clean is their ceiling fan. Dust can pile up easily, but because they are hard to reach is a big reason they are often forgotten about. Here’s a trick: Use a pillowcase to clean your ceiling fan. Slip the pillowcase on the best you can use a broom, pull it off, and voila! [Tip inspired by Passion for Savings]

9) Hard water spots dulling your stainless steel faucet’s shine? Try cleaning them with lemon! Cut a lemon in half and start rubbing faucets in your kitchen and bathroom to watch rust and hard water spots disappear!

10) Showerhead looking pretty shabby? Shower heads are difficult to clean because they can’t be taken off and cleaned in detail or thrown in the dishwasher. But did you know that you can clean them overnight by soaking them in vinegar? Simply fill a sandwich baggie with vinegar and then carefully secure the bag over the showerhead so it’s fully submerged. Then use an elastic hair tie or rubber band to wrap around the top of the shower head to hold the bag. Don’t forget to remove the vinegar bag before you turn on the shower in the morning!

11) Lampshade looking dusty? Lint roll it! Even the most delicate of lampshades are easy to clean with a lint roller!
